I'm on my feet, I'm on the floor, I'm good to go

Jimmy Eat World
@ The House of Blues
I hadn't heard them in at least 3 years, Heather invited me. It was sooo good.
Other than that I finally worked on my files on from Mexico.

Heather and I went to the thrift store today and spent over 40 minutes looking at all the books......
Im in such a mood for gardening and ironically I found this Guide to gardening (im not going to say which one) from 1944, which was originally printed in 1935. AMAZING....
The illustrations are what made me really excited.

My heart beat was 124 and I think I freaked out the doctor..... 2 nurses and the doc. checked my heart beat through out the visit.....
Other than that I'm on Hydrocodone and an anitbiotic. I really hate being sick.

Last Night

Party.... where?
Started off at Brian's in Brighton.... cops showed up
walked back to my house
Then to the Butcher Shop, which was so lame!
+half way to Reedsdale
++++Finally to Hooker Street
Funniest most expected night ever. I knew the second I saw them they were going to start something.
No problem though.... I don't put up with adults who think they are still in high school.
These are the best friends a girl could have.
(a crew of 15 guys who would snow ball fight anyone for you, seriously....)

Soooo about last night....
It SUCKED!!!!
I'm normally fine with some nights not being that great or exciting, but what the fuck!
This should have been a good time.
Heather, Nate, Brian, Johnny, Joey, Josh....... but no the asshole at Paper with his techno practically cleared the room.
I hate these events, but I manage to have a goood time and I don't normally complain but way to waste 10 perfectly good gold dollars..... thats right I paid with 10 sakajowea coins.
Whatever, I'll be over it by tonight.
Sienna is still pissed.
On another note, I'm working on my website and my Resume, which I am finding is a lot more difficult than I thought it was going to be.
The Gallery world is a lot simpler than what it is made out to be.... okay thats a lie, I'm scared shitless, it's all about who you know.
Did I mention I saw (in reality I was less than 5 ft. from him in a room of only 10 people) David Hilliard at Carroll and Sons Gallery .... Totally made my day.... I was also at Gallery Kayafas with James Hull, my Professional Directions professor, visiting with Arlette Kayafas, the owner. She spoke on the do's, dont's, and facts on how she runs her gallery and what an artist needs to know before jumping into the gallery world. She was great, really informative and down to earth.
TONIGHT IS FIRST FRIDAY!!!!!
Tuesday, February 3, 2009
I go out on the weekends now.
But I didn't before.....

I used to barely ever go out, friends would come over to my house. Scratch that my ex's friends would come over to my house, trash the place, and I'd be the one cleaning it up..... every weekend.
Thursday + Paper.. saw Seanie for the first time since 2005, met Nate= awesome,
Friday + Stripper Party!!!, + sleep over, John, Kyle, & Brandon. Some how we lost Tommy!
Saturday + ICC show, + Sunset, + Circus, + party in Allston, + Circus, + after party...... out until 5am
BEST NIGHT!
Saturday started with just Heather and myself, then we brought Nate with us, then Seanie and his 3 friends, then lost them and got Brandon and Anthony, then got Matt, and then Brian and his friend..... By the end of the night we (Heather, me, Nate, Brandon, & Anthony) ended up at my house, longest night ever.
I am so psyched on having awesome friends.

Everybody wants to be a genius...
Between Inara George playing on my iTunes and the internet attempting to control my brain, I am running on no sleep.
This is the only positive conclusion my web "surfing" led to..... Derrick Cruz.... but really....The Selby by Todd Selby kept me busy for hours last night.
Photographs, paintings, and videos of mainly people in different aspects of the art industry.
From the spaces to the people, once I clicked on the Sofia Achaval/ Thibault de Montaigu set I was hooked.
I totally recommend The Selby for anyone looking for a laugh and some inspiration, whether it be style or interior decorating.
Oooppppsss and I almost forgot about the photography (the main reason I found him) but what I am least interested in now, as collective blurbs about each person they work together, but I am way more interested in the photographs because of the "things" in each image..... like that art school statement, Is it an interesting photograph, or a photograph of interesting things....

Old Work, mas or menos....
Some quick scans of some really old work.... Yacov, Martha, y Rich.

Ehh, so classes started Monday and I've been debating on what to do about classes and finishing, as this is supposed to be my last semester......
Im not going to worry about it so much because everything always works out some how.
Going back the Patricia White housing will be refreshing, possibly thursday.
So my schedule goes as follow......
Wed. am class/ in the afternoon I'll be at Beth Israel Hospital....ugh!
Thursday midday class..... then party party party.... or not
Friday...... babysitting 7am-5pm, twin 5 yr. olds and twin 15 month olds!
Today I did nothing really, Tommy lost his keys so he got out of his house and stopped by...
Then we took Brett's car downtown to the library to get the keys...
very exciting stuff
I love thisssssssss...
ohh and Heather moved out temporarily, I'm so bummed.
Who am I going to make coffee with!?
The Fat Cat & The Sleepy Dog

So it has come to my attention that Taleen, my 2.5 yr old Russian Blue, is insanely obese!
According to numerous fact sheets on cats, of her specific breed, she should be between 7-9lbs.
-As of yesterday Taleen weighs 15.5 lbs.
I feel like the worst parent in the world....
Ever since she was spayed over the summer all she does is eat.
Her food, Sienna's food, Oryan's food!
So starting today she is on a major diet.
As for Sienna....... She needs a bed of her own, I like the one above from Pet ExpertiseToo bad they are extremely expensive!
Between the two of them they are extremely spoiled....
but what am I supposed to do, I love them <3
Sunday, January 25, 2009
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.... time for church
Morning with the neighbors, Kyle, John, & Tommy (who's watching Titanic)......
We were playing darts and eating toast.
Brunch is in an hour, I have a lot of work to do, back to school tomorrow!
I watched a Fear net movie last night with the boys...they chickened out and I went home at 3am.
Besides the broom having gone missing
-a glass mysteriously broke in the living room at around 4am
-Sienna some how had an accident in the living room, how a dog opens a door that is latched....
I have no IDEA.
As for today, the boys will most likely skate underground and I will get some of my work done.
Boring for my last day before classes start.

Oaxaca, Mexico
So, I went to Mexico, Dec. 28, 2008- Jan. 11, 2009, as planned and was psyched to start editing down the pictures I took while away...... but I came back to my mac not working.... so a few weeks later and $120 more in debt I've started.

I photographed the same family as last year, Curillo, the father, and his 10 children.
Collette 4
Christopher 7
Rosie Isella 9
Quaceme 12
Gabriella 15
Paco 17
Anjel 20
Heranimo 22
Paullina 23
Santa Maria 25
Curillo's wife died due to complications from giving birth to their youngest daughter four years ago because of this Collette lives with Santa Maria, who lives with her husband in the village. Paullina, the 2nd oldest daughter, also lives outside of Curillo's house, either married or working for another family. So in total living in a 4 room shack, with one room being strictly for food preparation, eight people sleep between 3 rooms and five old mattresses on dirt floors with no sheets/blankets, running water, and no more than enough electricity to power a small refrigerator, TV, & hotplate.
Due to the worlds current economic situation what I thought was poverty last year while visiting was nothing compared to this year. In the past Curillo and the oldest boys would collect scrap metal/ wood for burning and carving, and were the village butchers, for lack of a better term, killing the livestock and preparing it for celebrations and fiestas which are common during this time of year.
As he explained to me, with less money coming in on all socioeconomic levels the village celebrations for Christmas, New Years, and the entire month of January (day of the 3 kings) which is the largest religious month of the year were cut down to almost nothing providing no jobs as expected in past years. Because of this Gabriella was sent to work for one of her Aunts, caring for children, cooking, and cleaning clothes which provides her with a place to sleep and three meals a day. Heronimo, Paco, y Anjel left the house each morning at dawn and spent the majority of their day at the scrap yard trying to make money. As for the youngest ones, Quaceme was taught how to kill chickens and do the cutting/ preparation of Chickens/Cows/ Pigs over the past year and I was actually allowed to accompany them to one of the meat preparations which involved a Cow, a Pig and sesenta pollos (60 chickens). Besides going to school, Rosi y Christo go to their other Aunts house each day to work and in return she provides them with new clean clothes, baths, and 3 meals a day.... which is a godsend from growing up with one pair of shoes each and 2 possibly 3 different sets of clothes.
I admire Curillo for everything he has done for his children, as a widower he could have abandoned them 4 years ago and he would not have kill himself working to support his large family, many children in Mexico are homeless and abandoned each day. Staying with him and his family is the greatest learning experience I have had and probably will ever have.
This is Curillo's family.
