Facing the Facts

I've been in denial since August, but to be completely honest I gave up on the garden about halfway through the Summer.

I started real strong and excited to get the seedlings I started in March, in the basement, out into the soil, but with 1 week of rain, followed by another week of rain, on top of days of cloud... I really bailed on the whole thing.

So I got about 200 cherry tomatoes and a couple dozen slicers, some peppers and zucchinis and a half dozen eggplant but thats it.

Last year was just too good.

and today it's snowing.

ugh.

Jalapeno Jelly

I have so much on my plate already but I really want to make my Jelly.

A gal I work with in "cheese land" makes and sells Salsa.
She's had it tested and everything.

Could my Jelly be that good....

Last year it was amazing.
I want to make a living doing fun stuff.

Hiding in the Garden

is this teeny tiny flower growing into a bottle in the dirt

Deconstruction

So it's the end of the season, time to take everything down.
here is my list:

-Squash- they died extremely early this year, thanks to Vine Borers.
From the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture
- Zucchini- produced a lot in the beginning and then died off by Aug.
- Watermelon- produced 2 small unedible  melons thanks to the pest problem
-Spaghetti Squash- while pulling the tomatoes I found 1!!!!! It hasn't ripened yet but soon will.
You can see it at the bottom hanging from the Morning Glory
- Tomatoes go (I ended up getting Late Bight, Oct. is better than July...)
- Remove tomato supports

The pile of tomato supports and strawberry buckets, they took over every container in the garden
- Prune & tie back Blackberries

- Pull dead/dying flowers

October Garden
